Getting started with MobilePASS
Aon provides the ability for colleagues to connect to Aon’s remote access environments, such as our virtual private network (VPN), Citrix and other web applications, enabling access to our network from home, client sites or other remote locations. Colleagues require two components to achieve remote access: Pulse Secure (the connection tool) and a MobilePASS token (the authentication tool).
If you have never had remote access and need to request it, please search for “remote access” on the ServiceNow self-service portal, or request it through the system used for technology requests in your location.
Using MobilePASS
MobilePASS allows secure remote access to corporate and web-based applications by validating your identity on Aon’s network. MobilePASS tokens generate unique passcodes and are used together with the MobilePASS PIN in Pulse Secure to authenticate your identity to Aon’s protected applications, such as remote access VPN, Citrix and third-party portals. This entire string is called the MobilePASS OTP (one-time password) and is referred to as “two-factor authentication” since it requires something you “know” (the MobilePASS PIN) and something you “have” (the MobilePASS token).
MobilePASS is available for Windows laptops, Mac OS and all leading mobile devices, including BlackBerry, iPhone, Android and Windows phones.
Activation Email
You must complete a self-enrollment process before you can use your MobilePASS token. Self-enrollment is the process of activating your token. Colleagues can activate one MobilePASS token to use with Pulse Secure.
Once you request and are approved for Aon remote access, you will receive a special auto-generated activation email from MyToken_NoReply@aon.com that will contain instructions for activating your token, along with your unique activation link which takes you to the MobilePASS self-enrollment web page.
Note that this automated email will be in English and will be needed to access your unique activation link. Links will be provided within the English email to translated versions1 of the email. PLEASE DO NOT IGNORE OR DELETE THIS ENGLISH EMAIL!
This activation email expires 31 days after issuance. If your activation link expires before you can activate your MobilePASS token, please contact the Global Service Desk or your local IT Service Desk for assistance.
Once you receive the automated activation email, read the information contained in the email, and then click the Self-Enrollment link within the email. Please note that these activation emails are personally generated, so the link is valid only for the colleague receiving the email to install for one MobilePASS token.
IMPORTANT! Decide where to activate your token! Colleagues can have one active MobilePASS token. If you will only use MobilePASS on your Aon laptop, activate your MobilePASS token there. If you need to access remote access environments through Citrix or from other devices, or need to share a resource, activate the token on your mobile device for portability.
